Dozens

Recently opened in the UpDoNa neighborhood of downtown Denver, Dozens is a delightful breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot that celebrates its Colorado origins through its creatively named egg dishes celebrating local sights, intersections, and towns. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a vibrant ambiance that echoes the spirit of the Rockies—warm wooden accents and a lively atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. As the owners of Dozens might say, it’s “eggstraordinary”!

The menu at Dozens is a tongue-in-cheek journey through Colorado, with each egg dish cleverly named after a different locale. For example, the “Here’s your Aspen” (my personal favorite) is an omelet with avocado, tomato and feta cheese, described as “not as exclusive as it sounds”. The “Convention Center”, an omelet with chopped chicken breast, fresh broccoli, and cheddar cheese is described as “researched and designed by a panel of out-of-town experts so it must be good”! During another visit, I opted for the “Steamboat” Scramble—a generous portion of scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, sour cream and chives.  Each bite revealed layers of flavor, and the eggs’ texture was perfectly creamy without feeling heavy.

To satisfy any cravings for sweets, there are always fresh fruit, Belgian Waffles, and Cinnamon Rolls among the many choices. Tasty fresh salads and creative sandwiches are also on the menu.

The service was outstanding—our server was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to modify any dish to meet your dietary preferences. They serve delicious Novo coffee, and your cup is refreshed regularly. Additionally, you can’t visit Dozens without considering one of their “Premium Squeezed Mimosas,” served with freshly squeezed orange juice. They also serve Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers among other choices.

Dozens opened at its new 14th Street location after its former location on 13th Avenue closed in 2022 due to a fire. The popular breakfast and lunch restaurant had been a staple of downtown Denver for nearly 30 years. Dozens has been owned by local residents Kim and John England since 2006. Many of their former staff have returned to the current location, and there is a strong community vibe.

Overall, Dozens in downtown Denver offers a delightful breakfast, brunch, and lunch experience that blends creativity and local flair. Please make sure to stop by and savor the unique egg dishes and lunch offerings inspired by Colorado’s rich heritage. It’s the perfect way to start your day with a taste of the Rockies!

Open 7 AM – 2 PM daily (8 AM- 2PM on Sundays)
